Thrilling firsts, touching moments, and a community that cares are the three phrases that sum up the day at the Emerald Isle 2016 Breast Cancer Retreat.
Little Pink Houses of Hope provides free week-long retreats for breast cancer patients that include exciting activities like stand up paddleboarding experienced today. The activity is designed so that patients and family members can feel empowered during their breast cancer journey- and empowered they felt!
We were joined today by Kris and Krystal from Fishin’ for a Cure, a local Emerald Isle organization that aims to make a difference for women fighting breast cancer through fishing, fun, and fellowship. Each year, Fishin’ for a Cure holds an annual fundraising week- this year it is October 8-16 (registration form here). We are so honored that they chose to help Little Pink Houses of Hope families this year by presenting a check for $10,000 during our Tuesday activities. Our work is only possible through the generous donations of people that believe in the mission and vision of Little Pink. Thank you so much for supporting us Fishin’ for a Cure!
