Being a part of the Little Pink family is like having a large network of people who are there for you in every event of your life. They are all family to me. Becoming a volunteer has been a gift to us. It’s an opportunity for my family to be a part of something that makes us better versions of the people we were before. For me personally, when there are so many harsh and negative things shared around the world, I choose to remember how it made me feel on my retreat. Knowing that complete strangers gave so much of themselves to make a week so special for us, wanting nothing in return, restores my faith that there is so much good in this world.
I hope soon there is not only a cure but a way to prevent breast cancer. But until that day comes, we need services like LP to help families get through their fight. I’ve been lucky enough to witness first hand as a participant and a volunteer, what LP can do for a family that’s struggling to get through treatment. When you support LP, you can see directly where your donation is going. You can see the impact!
I know first hand what this diagnosis does to the whole family and LP is rare in its mission to provide a service that considers the needs of the whole family, not just the person diagnosed. I didn’t find any other resources for my family. My five years of being part of the LP family and I still have not seen anything like it!
