The first full day in Key West was more than successful, filled with beaches, black beans, and lots of bonding. This morning was our beach day; everyone enjoyed the sun (and nice breeze) while they chatted on the beach and snorkeled in the gorgeous, blue, salty water. Many of us didn’t ever want to get out of the water!
Later on for dinner, Charlie made his Black Bean Soup (which everyone was convinced to try and LOVED). After filling our bellies we headed out to Mallory Square to see some street vendors, artists, and performers. Some tight rope walking, juggling knives and flaming batons, and jumping through hoops (both humans and cats), all performances kept a huge smile on everyone’s face. One of our participants was asked to help Will (one of the performers) and was crowned “Miss Sunset” for the night. Overall it was a great, entertaining night, and I’m sure everyone will sleep well tonight, excited for our plans for tomorrow and the rest of the week!
