Words can hardly explain how my husband and I were impacted by the retreat. From the moment I was notified that we were chosen, we were welcomed with open arms. Every need was addressed and we were treated with the utmost love and care.

This retreat allowed my husband and I to be just husband and wife, not caregiver and patient. There were no Drs, no appointments, nothing to remind us of our battle. Instead we were engaged in the most memorable experiences that allowed us much needed freedom and laughter. And not only did we reconnect, we were able to connect with the most wonderful group of people….our director and coordinator included. We started as strangers and left as family.

We cannot thank you enough for all that you have given us…the memories, the experiences, the opportunity to strengthen my already strong bond with my husband and learn that I am never alone in this battle.

We were so inspired by our time in Manistee, MI that I have since signed on to be a Volunstar and my best friend did too. This couldn’t have happened without the support of volunteers or the support of donors. Even my mom was so moved by everything you gave us that she has become a donor. You have impacted many lives outside the retreat.

I guess if I had to use one word to describe our time, it would have to be simply AMAZING!!!
