This summer, my family and I received an incredible opportunity. It was an opportunity to leave our home which had been so disrupted with cancer and just enjoy each other. I went into this trip as an incredibly overwhelmed, exhausted, and broken cancer-fighter. I walked in to a world of support, family fun, family bonding and stories of others that made me feel not as alone. I have not ever been on a vacation where I did not have to lift a finger. Everything was set up for us, no planning needed. We got to do so many activities together, activities that we would never have thought of doing. I can definitely say we could never have afforded to do all of this in one trip or year on our own. It was so nice to have people take care of you with joy and love. My family and I came home with memories that will last a lifetime. I so hope that I will be able to come back and become someone that does this for others because I know how much it meant to me. Here is hoping for health and me being able to volunteer in the future.
