The definition of the word embrace means to accept and support, willingly and enthusiastically. It is the best word to describe the feeling that has been present since our first retreat in Myrtle Beach, SC two years ago, thanks to this week’s spotlight, Lance Thompson. We are looking forward to Lance, his family, and his entire staff embracing us again this year at our Myrtle Beach retreat starting tomorrow.
Here’s your chance to get to know a little more about Lance and his family.
Please tell us about your experience with Little Pink Houses of Hope:
As Vice President and General Manager of Ocean Lakes Family Campground, we are fortunate to have been one of the retreat locations for the last two years, with another event coming here in November. My wife and I also sponsor a dinner one night in honor of friends who have suffered from breast cancer.
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
The success of our marriage, as my wife and I have raised two beautiful daughters.
Name someone who has impacted your life and describe that impact.
My wife has had a tremendous impact on my life, as she has taught me the importance of doing the right thing in all circumstances.
Do you have any hidden talents?
I used to ride a unicycle and spin a basketball on my finger, but haven’t done so in quite a while!
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you visit?
Wembley, England during the Wimbledon tennis tournament.
What would you like to be doing in ten years?
Traveling with my wife and special needs daughter.
If you had a time machine, what is something that you would want to see?
What the world will look like in 100 years.
Name something you have always wanted to do and why.
Ride a motorcycle cross country, to be able to see parts of America from the perspective on two wheels. My wife and I have done it six times now, traveling different routes each time.
Do you have a nickname, how did you get it?
As a kid, I was called Cotton, for having extremely blond hair.
THANKS LANCE!
