Today was a great first day to our week, even though it was a bit overcast, the smiles and laughter brightened the skies, as well as our day! The beach is such a relaxing place for everyone, it’s a place for everyone to come together and learn more about each other. We had a nice game of egg toss, it seemed like the eggs were hard boiled they took forever to break! We also had a fun silly string game. Everyone had such a fantastic day, there was not one person without a smile on their face!
We had lunch donated by Charlie, Carol and Cheryl. They took time out of their busy lives to make boxed lunches for all of these families! They came down to the beach, set up lunch and spent some time talking and connecting with everyone. Thank you so much for the awesome lunch!!
After our fun time at the beach we headed to the North Carolina Aquarium of Fort Fisher who closed the aquarium just for our families and donated their time to let these families enjoy themselves. Thank you so much! We toured the aquarium with all of the families, they had a blast, some of them at the touch tank actually touched sting rays and horseshoe crabs. Seeing Luna the albino alligator really intrigued most everyone. After everyone enjoyed the aquarium we made our way down to the big fish tank and had dinner together which was donated by Kate Weiss owner of Kate’s Pancake House she made us such a fantastic dinner!
