Our Little Pink Tuesday was spent on the beach at Ocean Lakes and it was an awesome day! The sun was shining, the water glistened beautifully and the air carried the music of sweet, infectious giggles.
The children loved jumping over the waves…most of the time succeeding, building sandcastles decorated with intricate seashells, flipping in the sand, and getting competitive while playing beach games with all of our Volunstars.
While the little ones enjoyed each other’s company, Retreat Parents sat back, relaxed and soaked up the warm sun! Not a bad day spent on the beach!
We then headed up to the Observation Deck for a delicious southern meal, which consisted of pulled pork sandwiches, coleslaw, and baked beans! The families were treated to a beautiful view as they enjoyed their meal, a large pod of dolphins made their way down the coastline, delighting the families with their sudden appearance and acrobatics.
After lunch we made our way back to the Rec Center for a fun art project! The families were provided canvases to paint beautiful Angelfish as a memento from their retreat. We have some true artists amongst us here in Ocean Lakes!
Our evening was hosted by Journey Church and they provided an evening these wonderful women and families won’t soon forget! The details in the planning of the evening were so evident and everyone just knew that Journey Church loved loving on these women. They prepared a wonderful Italian meal, and a dessert spread, colored with pink details and a Little Pink Houses cake. The praise team entertained the families with some songs, which some even danced along to! But I believe the highlight of the evening was a touching presentation of beautiful handmade quilts to each of the Breast Cancer Survivors in the room. What an inspiring moment it was! We are so Thankful to Journey Church for making this night so wonderfully unforgettable!
Until next time!
