Philadelphia might be known as the city of Brotherly Love, but tonight at the Little Pink Ladies Wine and Cheese private party, it was the city of Sisterly love! One of the great aspects of the 2014 Summer Tour of Hope is that every stop is so totally different. It does not have to be a big event or a large event, just a stop where we can share our message and reach into the hearts of those attending. From the very beginning of my cancer journey, I have been lucky enough to have an amazing family supporting me! Tonight my sister, Kristie, hosted a small private gathering to share the mission and vision of Little Pink with an amazing group of women. The wine flowed, the laughter was raucous, and the giving was immense. I felt like I had been a part of their circle of friends for years, even though I had just met them. The group pulled together and donated $2,251 to Little Pink Houses of Hope! Pleased to be able to know that they have sponsored 4 families with a Little Pink Retreat. PS. Ramblings from the Road- On this long journey, there are many opportunities for meaningful conversations along the way. I had an offer tonight from a wonderful guest to call her when I am weary and I need prayers to keep going. I will definitely take her up on her offer! But I also realized tonight how often we get a chance to reach out to others and let them know that they mean so much just by being who they are. We have the smallest gifts of ourselves that we can give that turn into huge gifts to others. Thankful for a stranger’s hug, a sister’s love, and of course Pam Boon’s laughter!
