Introducing our Guest Blogger – Volunstar Bonnie Our first full day together and what fun it was!  Although the clouds loomed this morning, the rain held off and we had a wonderful day at the beach.  We were welcomed by Emerald Isle Mayor Eddie Barber, followed by beach games, boogie boarding and lunch.  The shaving cream game was messy and unexpected, but forced us to rinse off in the ocean….and upon realizing the ocean was actually quite refreshing, many of us continued to stay in the water for hours! Many relationships were developed and strengthened in the context of casual beach conversation.   Tonight we were welcomed by the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores and treated to a VIP tour!  We touched stingrays, marveled at the otters and dined beside the shark tank.  Thanks to Linda and her crew from  Special Events Catering, we were treated to a delicious dinner.  Special thanks also to Becky from the Aquarium for leading our VIP tour, and ramping it up to include a “behind the scenes” tour!   Exhausting, yet exhilarating day!  Relationships are blossoming after only 24 hours, and looking forward to strengthening these relationships as the week progresses.
