Unfortunately this amazing week had to come to an end tonight, and as you can imagine, it was hard for everyone to say their goodbyes. Although we all only met under a week ago, these are bonds that will last forever. As Jeanine likes to say, we were all “ridiculously present” this week, and it’s hard to have to leave that to return to our everyday lives. But no matter what happens, we all know now that our little pink family will be there for us through thick and thin. This week wasn’t about the “c” word, it was about hope, family, friends, and laughter, and we’re all pleased to see that everyone, including the volunstars, got everything they needed for themselves and their families out of this week. Not only have they made new ever-lasting friends, they strengthened their bond within their own families. This week will never be forgotten as a happy place, one of the many stops in this incredible legacy that is presently being made.
This morning, the volunstars started their day with a hearty breakfast, courtesy of Charlie, and yoga with some families to the relaxing pitter-patter of rain drops on the roof of the Rehoboth Bay Sailing Association.
But I think we can all agree that Charlie’s favorite meal today was the pig roast..
These two wonderful women had everyone tearing up tonight as we went around and shared our favorite moments from the week and thanked those who really made this week happen for Little Pink.
Happy 22nd Birthday to Ian today! We celebrated with birthday cake and cupcakes!
And finally, yet unfortunately, we all said our goodbyes to our new friends and family. Without a doubt this group will keep in touch and get together whenever it’s possible. Never forgotten, Bethany Beach Little Pink Retreat 2013.
