It’s raining, it’s pouring and Little Pink is Soaring…
While it may have rained most of the day , it was much needed for the Lake Tahoe area. A little rain did not stop the outpouring and soaring feeling of love and support that is Little Pink. The day started with a beautiful tour of Sand Harbor, a favorite spot on Lake Tahoe. We had many families come out and dance in the rain and witness the magical beauty of the rocks and endless blue water. As the families walked along the nature trails it was easy to see the beauty through the rain.
We had a quick to warm up with ho chocolate and coffee at the local Starbucks and our families enjoyed time by the fire and embraced the day for exactly what it was- a beautiful day with friends and family.
The families enjoyed a beautiful lunch from St. Francis of Assisi and were treated to a candle ceremony followed by an amazing lunch made with love. There was so much laughter an light in the room as the families mingled and shared stories of what they have enjoyed so far.
It was also a very special adult night out and the kids were treated to a kid night adventure courtesy of the Rideout Community Center where they enjoyed dinner, crafts, basketball, pool and games. The adults had their own time with much appreciation from the local restaurants that supported Little Pink tonight- River Grill, Lone Eagle Grill, Sunnyside and Jake’s on the Lake. Each of the survivors and a guest were treated to a special dinner to help give them some special time.
The love and laughter that echoed throughout the community center as the Little Pink kids were enjoying the pure joy of just being kids was only paralleled by the joy experienced by the adults as they dined and enjoyed some special memories.
So even with the rain our Little Pink families soar through the day living stronger, laughing harder and loving deeper.
