Today was the beginning of the first ever LPHOH retreat in Kure Beach, NC.- Woohoo! 

Five families arrived today, with a sixth coming in later tonight to spend a wonderful week at the beach and to get a chance to play, laugh, relax, and revel in the joy of their family.  Throughout the week, we will be blogging about their week, so feel free to comment and share!

The day started with a flurry of activity in preparing the houses for our families.  Our volunteers worked tirelessly to make sure that everything was ready to welcome them for their stay.  And then came the fun part- meeting our families!  The Kure Memorial Church Youth Group provided dinner and everyone got a chance to meet! The kids got a chance to play and the adults found out about all of the great opportunities for the week (let me just give you a teaser.. the week includes a boat, a cow, a surfboard, a romantic night out, and tons of shaving cream- check back each day to see more!)

The day has been AMAZING!  I am truly blessed to have been able to meet each family and work with a wonderful group of volunteers.  Cannot wait to see the joys that tomorrow will bring!  Life is about living abundantly and that is exactly what we will do this week in Kure Beach!
