Thursday was our third day of rain, but once again, the LPHOH participants and volunSTARS were great sports and managed to come together for indoor fun. The Rehoboth Bay Sailing Association hosted the families who came out for crafts and card games. A spectacular lunch was provided by Gloria Nerrynan, Debbie Dyer, and their friends.
The afternoon was set aside for family photos on the beach. A special thanks to our photographer, Sam Ellis, for not only shooting the pictures, but also for arranging the venues around the boardwalk area. Our friend Alex Heidenberger at Mango’s Restaurant provided backup photo space in case the weather worsened. The highlight of the day was a Mexican Fiesta dinner from our ever-present coordinator, Ann Raskauskas. She arranged for the food as well as the venue, The Den Restaurant in Bear Trap Dunes located in Ocean View. We would like to thank their kitchen staff for helping us serve dinner. No fiesta is complete without a piñata! Led by our wonderful community supporter, Carol, the kids gave it their best shot. A triumphant cheer arose at the final whack released a load of treats.
Even though the skies have been gray, our Bethany Beach donors, volunSTARS, and participants came together to make the day as sweet as piñata candy.
