Apparently everyone got their rest last night because they all did amazing paddle-boarding this morning! The happiness shines in everyone’s face as they accomplish something many of them thought couldn’t be done. Everyone cheered as their mothers, partners, or sisters faced their doubts and stood up on the boards. Thanks to LazyDog for helping to give these ladies such a wonderful experience. Lunch today was a salad bar held in West Martello Gardens (thankfully in the shade after a hot morning in the sun). Those gardens would be perfect for pictures! (hint hint).
White table clothes, pink flowers, beautiful silverware and folded napkins accented the tables as we entered St. Paul’s Episcopal Parish Hall for our catered dinner tonight. We were treated with a SCRUMPTIOUS three-course meal prepared by Chef Ken Jones which included gazpacho, surf-n-turf, and caramelized ginger bread pudding. He even made a special dinner and dessert for our Vegan friends on this retreat (p.s. apparently avocado can be used as a great substitute in chocolate mousse for non-dairy eaters!) Meanwhile trying to digest all that food, we got pretty competitive in a game of Celebrity (a game where all you need is paper, pens, and people). So many laughs were shared today, and more to come for the rest of the week. As Jeanine likes to remind us, we only met just over 48 hours ago! It’s amazing what some relaxation and bonding can do.
