My son had experienced the same love and care I had on our retreat, and it had made a lasting impact on his little heart.

When I asked my son what his favorite part of our vacation was, he said, “Legos.”
“What?”
I thought he would say our jeep ride on the beach at sunset, paddle boarding, the arcade, or the beach. Legos wasn’t an activity.
“Building with Legos with Amanda.”
Then I remembered. On our second evening when we met as survivors to share our stories, our volunstar Amanda sat outside with my son and they built a Lego set.
I still thought it was a funny answer.
But then later that day I understood, and my eyes filled with tears. My son had experienced the same love and care I had on our retreat, and it had made a lasting impact on his little heart.
I came into the retreat so tired and worn out. I wanted to bring my son so we could have a fun week together, but I was so exhausted after a rough year of treatment. Little Pink came around us to support us and create such a safe and loving week for us to have fun and make lasting memories. I am still in awe. Thank you so much, Little Pink, for everything!
