“Our memories of the ocean will linger on, long after our footprints in the sand are gone.” ~ author unknown
At Little Pink, we can mix a day of riding waves on the North Carolina coast with a bunch of hungry sharks and STILL produce an amazing experience! (Yep, our VolunSTARS are that good!)
Safe to say most of our Little Pink families will sleep well tonight after kicking off the week with their toes in the sand … which in our world includes paddle ball, boogie boards, Frisbees, extensive sand castles, and of course, shaving cream. Because no Little Pink beach day is complete without an opportunity to cover new friends in plenty of white foam!
Hanging on the beach on the first full day of retreat week feels sort of like a family reunion with a lot of distant relatives. There are common characteristics that link everyone together, but there are a lot of details to catch up on! It is always fun to share stories … and realize what a small world it really is. My favorite part is watching the smiles get bigger and bigger as the hours go by.
After a little break in the action — break meaning countless trips down the waterslides at Water Boggan — we brought new meaning to Shark Tank. No Cuban or Mr. Wonderful … just real live sharks on display during a yummy dinner from Outback at the North Carolina Aquarium. Thanks to our amazingly generous friends at the NC Aquarium, we all enjoyed a private evening with the fish, turtles, salamanders, jellyfish, hermit crabs, stingrays, and yes, even sharks — especially sharks!
A post-dinner behind the scenes look meant a visit to the TOP of the shark tanks to check out the open water view from above. Thankfully, all siblings were getting along at this point in the evening so there were no additional feedings for these NC sharks!
Full day. Full hearts. Let’s do it again tomorrow, y’all!
