Like so many people, my family rallied around me when I was diagnosed with breast cancer.  They wanted to do something, everything, anything!  The day before my first chemotherapy, they sent me away and completely remodeled my bathroom.  The new paint on the walls was wonderful.  The redone vanity was beautiful.  New towels luxurious.   My sister had asked my then 11 year old son to find a quote that would be perfect for his mom.  And so he did…

That feeling is at the heart of Little Pink’s mission.  On the eve of Little Pink’s 5 year Anniversary on Monday, August 31, 2015, I just want to personally thank each and every family member and friend that has become the sun for their loved one on the cancer journey.  You love even when it is hard and you are hurting.    You grow in a love that you never knew possible.   And on the many days that it is hard for you to even see the sun, you keep going.
Because in the end, God has given each of us the greatest gift to share with the world.  The gift of our love and compassion for others.  The gift of being there until the end.  The gift of giving our burdens over so that the light can get in.  So give all the love that you have.  Be loved in ways that cause you to completely surrender.  And be thankful that each and every day you can know that “To love and be loved is to feel the sun on both sides”.  
The Little Pink family is so priveledged that so many families have let us serve them and experience the beauty of their love.  You have become our Sun.  Thanks for the most amazing 5 years!
